In Malaysia if one is to discuss about spicy dishes, rendang chicken would always be the locals favourite topic but then again where can we find really good rendang ? don't they all taste the same? well , consumers nowdays have been misleaded by majority of our mamak stalls for in order to save time and cost , a lot of packet curry powders are being used to produce curry or rendang dishes which feels really deceiving for us customers longing to satisfy our taste bud with a genuine rendang or curry flavor.
A good rendang, must not be too oily and it must have a balanced composure of santan, dairy milk , pandan leaves, dry chilli as well as high quality curry powder as taught by my grandma an excellent nyonya cook with thirty years of experience . We have been around town and there are good rendangs around but really awesome , grade A rendang? i believe it is not from Melaka.
For tea time fanatics my suggestion to you would be Restaurant Malai Curry House if you are looking at good tosai especially tosai sardine and roti tampal they really put their hearts into it. These wouldn't be considered a full meal but if you're looking for snacks , i reckon there is no tosai which taste better than those from Malai Curry Air Keroh Heights and they provide a really warm environment compare to a lot of other indian restaurants.
Paratha aka roti canai lovers ought to give Pak Putra a chance, for besides than their ever famous tandoori chicken , their potato paratha is a must try, once you've tasted it, you would wanna come back ! It is even more tasty than mashed potato from KFC.
